In our Year 4 Biological Sciences Module, ‘Consumers, Producers and Decomposers’, students:

  • explore the roles and feeding relationships between producers, consumers and decomposers.
  • construct food chains, food webs and life cycles.
  • investigate a feral animal and its impact on native species.

Alignment to Australian Curriculum

Our units are fully aligned to the Australian Curriculum including the science understanding, science inquiry skills and the cross-curriculum priorities. 

We also align to the Design and Technologies section of the Technologies learning area. 

Components of the general capabilities are included where applicable.

When will new units be available?

We are working hard on developing new units. This is a passion project for both of us that we are currently fitting in around our paid jobs. We love what we do and are committed to our mission.

Can I purchase a unit as a book?

The units are available online only. This means that we can continuously update lessons according to teacher feedback, any new developments in science content or changes to the science curriculum.

Are STEM activities included?

Yes. STEM activities are central to our units. These activities include science investigations and design tasks.

Do the units include Indigenous perspectives?

 Indigenous perspectives are an essential contribution and are included in all units where possible.

In the future, we plan to partner with Indigenous people and organisations to develop more complete perspectives.
